For those of us who prefer ginning to gymming *raises hand, which is obviously holding a glass of somethin’ somethin’,* Brisbane’s own gin house, Covent Garden, is letting us in on the ultimate cocktail recipe for a bit of boozy at-home experimenting.
You’ll be making The Perfect Lady – a cocktail created in 1936 by Sidney Cox as a riff on the classic White Lady, made slightly lighter and fruitier in flavour by replacing the Cointreau in the latter with a peach liqueur.
Clear your kitchen counter and ready the London Dry, the woman of the house is about to come home.
INGREDIENTS
40ml London Dry Gin
20ml Crème de Peche (peach Liqueur)
30ml Lemon juice
10ml Sugar syrup
15ml aquafaba (or egg whites)
METHOD
Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (without ice) hard. Add ice to shaker and shake again to chill and dilute. Double strain into coupe glass. Garnish with bitters hearts and/or dehydrated lemon.
