Spilling out of the former church that houses it, The Flying Nun has tables dotted across decks, into the adjoining cottage and out onto the leafy footpath – and you still need to book a table if you want to have a hope of getting in for breakfast on Sunday morning. One of the best spots in Samford to brunch – for locals or visitors – it’s a popular spot for a reason.

Have your morning coffee over one of their famed breakfasts, like the brioche French toast with salted caramel, ice cream and honeycomb butter and peanut brittle or something savoury like the potato and Persian fetta hash cakes with poached eggs, green cauliflower puree and chorizo crumb.
