LITTLE BOAT | MARCOOLA
Hidden away in sleepy Marcoola, Little Boat has travelled the seven seas to bring you the most adorable little seaside café. As well as pumping out delicious all-day brunch (hello ricotta gingerbread waffles?), Little Boat serves up consistently rave worthy coffee. Whether you like yours white, black, filter or cold drip – they’ll serve it up with a smile. HOT TIP: Try the Persian love cake, you’ll never be the same.
HAND OF FATIMA | PEREGIAN
There are hardworking cafes, and there is Hand of Fatima. The skeleton staff (three at most), work tirelessly to get out Middle Eastern inspired brunch, lunch and damn fine coffees at record pace. It’s also the perfect spot for people watching and you’re guaranteed to see some very fine pooches.
THE POCKET ESPRESSO | MOFFAT BEACH
This little coffee nook is always crowded, and we can see why. Serving up smooth, rich brews, The Pocket Espresso goes off! Grab a some breakfast tacos and a takeaway coffee and head down to the beach if you’re not big on crowds, chill beach vibes await you.
THE CAF | COOLUM BEACH
A Coolum institution, the CAF has seen the changing face of Coolum but never budged, still serving up the best banana bread this G&G staffer has ever eaten (no exaggeration – strawberries and mascarpone? Oui chef!) and some of the best coffee in Coolum. Get it takeaway and head to Tickle Park to soak up the rays or enjoy it in house with a homemade cake.
GURU LIFE | ROSEMOUNT
If you haven’t heard of Rosemount, you need to investigate it, right now. Guru Life might be a little out of the way, but it’s more than worth the adventure. Sibling venue to the Pocket, Guru Life serves up four original blends from strong Colombian Inza to sweet Ethiopian, all designed to heighten your senses and make you happy inside. No matter the bean, they’ll take you to Nirvana!
COLOMBIAN COFFEE CO | MOOLOOLABA
Born from a love of Australia and the owners Colombian heritage, Colombian Coffee Co is a coffee lover’s dream. Roasted on site and with obvious love, the little coffee spot is just 200m from the beach and a favourite of tourists and locals alike.
GLASS COFFEE | COTTON TREE
We’re not sure what we did to deserve Glass Coffee, but we’re sure glad we did it. The Maroochydore coffee hub and gallery is the ultimate chill zone with its surf inspired décor, relaxed staff and amazing coffee. Shakas.
LAMKIN LANE | CALOUNDRA
It might be hidden away but you CANNOT miss Lamkin Lane. The tiny shop has placed in the Top 10 Café’s in Australia three years running and is serving up some sweet, sweet, Tim Adam specialty coffee and delicious, decadent treats.
COMPOUND | COOLUM BEACH
This café/vintage shop is so quintessentially Coolum it hurts. Pick up a vintage t-shirt with your morning flat white and ask the baristas what the surfs been like. 9/10 times they’ll be able to give you a better meteorology report than the weatherman. Grab a sneaky cake on your way out – you deserve it.
Now hit the beach!
